Day 01- A show that should have never been canceled

4

Imagine a pre-Wedding Crashers, pre-Hangover, pre-every other romantic comedy where he starred as the jackass best friend Bradley Cooper in hilarious adaptation of Anthony Bourdain’s memoir of a head chef in NYC restaurant. Picture a stellar cast of culinary misfits: Frank Langella, John Cho (Harold & Kumar), Nicholas Brendan (Buffy), John Francis Daley (Freaks & Geeks, Bones), and Jamie King.

Now deal with the bleak apocalyptic reality that this show is on Fox.

In terms of comedic style, it was little ahead of its time - the pilot isn’t the strongest but it progresses from into a world you would never expect was remotely funny. Watch the first season on Hulu (here)

(Yeah, I’m doing the 30-day Tumblr challenge. hopefully, this keeps me posting more)

popculturebrain:

It’s called Melissa and Joey (how creative.) I really wish ABC Family would just bring back the Boy Meets World reruns.

THIS IS A DIS-AS-TUH. Y? ABC Family you were doing SO well. U made me like Greek and tolerate 10 Things I Hate About You remake.                      - oh, I’ll probably DVR it…but just for the lulz. What nineties kid can resist Sabrina The Teen Witch/Clarissa and Joey “Whoa” Russo. Who among u????

Wuh-oh: Flash Forward Shuts Down Production

(Ausiello Files) FlashForward is taking a step back.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that ABC has temporarily shut down production on the rookie drama. The move comes a month after the departure of co-showrunner, Marc Guggenheim, and less than a week after FlashForward hit a new ratings low.

So this is y John Cho’s character didn’t see anything? Cuz of cancellation???

Could this show perhaps hurry the fuck up a little and be back on our screens already? I didn’t realise that I’d miss it this much.

Well, now you have to miss it forever because shit got real and NBC canceled it. Effing Jay Leno effect. FX pick this up, puhleeze!

When did political protests turn into rally cries for brilliant, but canceled TV shows. Did I miss that email forward in life?

Spike Lee & Robert De Niro Team up

Quintessential New York filmmakers Spike Lee and Robert De Niro have teamed  with Showtime to develop a drama series about Manhattan’s Alphabet City. The project, titled “Alphaville,” will be written by John Ridley, with Lee on board to direct the potential pilot….

Set during the 1980s, it will re-create the neighborhood’s eclectic mix of struggling artists and musicians living alongside Puerto Rican and black families.

Along with its growing bohemian and celebrity population that also included graffiti artists, break-dancers, rappers and DJs, the neighborhood was plagued by illegal drug activity and violent crime. Local tensions culminated in the Tompkins Square Park riot of 1988, in which police clashed with anarchists and homeless activists.

This has all the ingredients of awesome. Can’t wait.

"I’m glad something is finally replacing The Wire as The Best Show On TV. As much as I loved it, I got really tired of my white suburban neighbors walking around saying “Sheeeeeeeeeeeet” and planning trips to Baltimore."
